Posted Breed: Unknown breed (short coat). Adoption Fee: 295.00. Meet Possom! She came from a cruelty case of 9 dogs back in September and the courts finally released all of them in December. Possom is sweet and smart oh and did I mention small!! Shes fully grown at 20lbs ā£ļøPossom is about 1.5yr ā£ļøCrate trained ā£ļøHouse trained ā£ļøWalks well on a leash ā£ļøGood with big and small dogs ā£ļøOh and we have never heard her bark! She is not fixed yet but she has an appointment! Want to meet this low key sweet girl?!? Please fill out an application! Application available at .pawsofloverescue/adoption-application. Adoption donation of $295 includes spay, microchip, deworming, dhpp vaccinations, rabies shot, bordetella nose spray and any other necessary procedures prior to adoption. Dallas/Ft. Worth Area Applications can be found online at .pawsofloverescue, under the adopt tab. We require an approved application before a meet and greet is set up.

Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
