My favorite thing, even better than treats, is a hug followed by a kiss. I am very affectionate, and enjoy making new friends, human and canine. I am not sure how I feel about cats. I am learning to walk with my human friends on my leash and new pink harness. I discovered I can meet new friends on walks, but it would be much better if the cars didn't pass by so fast. I love to play and would enjoy children and/or a young canine friend to play with. I have really long legs and love to run in the fenced yard. My people decided I need a six-foot fence. They don't want me to be tempted to wander to explore all the interesting things I want to discover in my environment. I am a quiet girl. People expect me to howl as I am a hound; I have my own style, and I seldom find a need to talk. I may talk if you place me in a crate, but only because I just want to be with you. Thank-you for reading my bio. Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
