Posted Breed: Flat-coated Retriever / Mixed (medium coat). I’m here! Set up a meet and greet with me! I was picked up as a stray in September of 2023 and my prior owners never came to claim me. RUFF saved the day and agreed to take me into rescue since I was so nervous and anxious at the shelter. I’m in a foster home with 3 other dogs and I am definitely the submissive one of the group. I like to play with the right buddy and snuggle with my foster mom at night. I really enjoy it when my Nana comes over to check on us when my foster mom is in the office because I like to sit in her lap and get snuggles (I know I’m not really a lap dog). I am a very smart dog and would thrive with more training. I am eager to learn and would love to find my forever home. (AF/AF*) Up to date on age-appropriate vaccines, neutered and micro-chipped. Adoption Fee: $250.00

A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics.
