Description
Posted Breed: Belgian Shepherd Malinois. Bria was found as a stray and we don't know much about her past. We will make sure she only knows love and get the TLC she deserves in her future. So far she is loving being a companion dog! She is very calm and sweet, but as she is spending time decompressing in her foster home, more and more of her personality is starting to show. She loves affection from her foster family, but it also very content in just lounging around the house. On the lower end of the energy, she still gets the zoomies every now and again! Very treat/food motivated, and slowly staring to express interest in toys, especially the ones with squeakers. She has little to no reactivity so far to other dogs. While she is an attention hog, there has not been any aggressive behavior. She really wants to play with her foster brother, but hasn't really figured out how to yet! She does like to steal his toys when he sets them down though! She is untested with cats or kids. She is not a huge fan of bath time, but will sit there like a champ, though unhappy, to get it done! Loves her ears rubbed, and comfortable being touched on her paws, belly, mouth, etc. She does have some crate anxiety, but as we learn more about her, we think it is just the confinment of space, as now she spends the day lavish like a queen in a king size bed while her foster family is at work with no destructive tendencies. All MAD dogs come with a Fi Collar and one-year subscription. Our home address is in Michigan, however, the majority of our dogs are not located in Michigan. The physical location of each our our dogs is posted with the name of the pet or in the title area. If you are within 4 hours of the pet, please be prepared to pick the pet up. We do provide transport assistance up to 350 miles. The applicant must drive the remainder of the distance of the transport. Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
