Posted Breed: Terrier / Terrier / Mixed. Pipkin is a wonderful, sweet, loving dog with a lot of love to share. His adoption fee has been sponsored by Chiefs player, Derrick Nnadi and ZIWI! Pipkin is currently in a foster home. Here is what his foster has to say about him: He's quiet, playful, snuggly, and loves just being around his people. He would do well in an active family with another dog to wear out his 2 year old puppy energy. He loves to play zoomies with the neighbor's tiny dog up and down the fence line. They don't bark, just running up, down and sniffing. Pipkin also loves morning walks and is great on leash. (When on his Dog Day Out Pipkin got to go on a trail on a long leash. Even on a long leash, he wouldn't get too far ahead of his people without checking back in.) Soft toys are one of his favorite things. He can play with them for hours. His hilarious antics, throwing his own toys up in the air to catch, will have you laughing in no time. Pipkin is food motivated and will be easy to train. He is also the perfect couch potato or (60#) lap dog for any Netflix fan. If you want a sweet, loving dog that doesn't bark a lot, Pipkin's your guy! Before going to foster, Pipkin was lucky enough to have a Dog Day Out with a volunteer where they took him swimming!: When we got to the water, Pipkin dove right in and paddled a little (even though he could stand in that spot). He didn't care to go any deeper than he could touch, but he was happy to fetch sticks and snorkel for treats! After his swim, we had a picnic where Pipkin happily indulged in all the snacks. Best bonus of all, Pipkin is already house-trained and crate trained. would likely prefer the quiet life of the burbs or country to the hustle and bustle of the city. Pipkin is neutered, fully vaccinated, microchipped and ready to meet his forever family! Pipkin is currently living in a foster home. Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
