Posted Breed: Terrier / Mixed. // Find our applications at .midwestanimalrescue Adoption Fee $350 plus tax Forrest (or Todd, as we call him) is a very enthusiastic young dog. He has an exuberant play style, and enjoys running and wrestling with canine companions. He is cautious when meeting new people, but forms deep bonds within a couple days. Todd is a happy, silly guy with people he trusts. Todd has been working on basic obedience, and has nice leash manners. He is reliably potty trained and crate trained. However, he is still very puppy-ish and will require continued obedience training. He will be your shadow, and will throw himself across your lap to cuddle. Before coming to MARS, Todd was found in Oklahoma with two gunshot wounds to his left hind leg. There was significant damage to his knee, and the leg will be amputated (by MARS) to ensure Todd's long-term comfort. He currently uses the leg about 50% of the time, and is already compensating well. He is VERY fast! Being a "tripawd" will only add to his charm. Todd is an affectionate, goofy, sweet dog. He will be a loyal partner for an active person, couple, or family. Check out Todd's DNA results he is clearly a one of kind dog! ***Forrest/Todd should not go to a home with young children. (He requires space to adjust to new situations, and young children are too unpredictable.) * I did test positive for heartworm and will be receiving treatment provided by MARS to live a long healthy life. *A dog with Heartworms is not directly contagious to other animals. Heartworms are transmitted by an infected mosquito. or *The pet you are viewing is a rescued pet which is most often from an animal control facility and does not come with a pedigree. If you choose to DNA test your adopted pet, test results may vary from company to company and our breed guess may not be reflected in those results as it is just that, our best guess. It is with deep longing that we wish there was a breed called "cute" as we believe all of our dogs would fall under this new breed classification! Completion of an Adoption Application via our website .midwestanimalrescue is the best way to show your interest in an animal and is the first step in our adoption process. *Animals who are not fully vaccinated and altered are not eligible for long distance adoption. When you adopt a pet from Midwest Animal Rescue and Services, your adoption fee covers: Microchip and registration, Core Vaccines including Rabies, Distemper and bordetella, age appropriate heartworm testing or FeLV-FIV testing, sterilization, heartworm/flea-tick prevention and deworming while in foster care. Adoption fees are non-negotiable and can be paid by cashier's check, money order or credit card. We do not accept personal checks. Any issues that arise after adoption are the full responsibility of the adopter after the finalization of adoption. Adoption fees are only part of the expense of owning a pet, so we ask you to consider the costs for the life of the pet before adoption. We recommend pet insurance. //
