Despite what some might describe as a sad little face, Kila's little nub wags almost constantly, expressing her excitement about everything since her arrival at Polka Dogz. This pup is a quick learner, showcasing her skill in giving both paws and a willingness to learn more. Kila enjoys riding in the car, playing with other dogs, picking out new toys, and proving to be an excellent walker. Even bath time and nail trims bring her joy as she soaks up the attention. This calm, happy girl is on the lookout for that perfect person or family to provide her with the fresh start and active companionship she's seeking as an adored adult. If you're ready to open your heart to a loving canine companion, Kila is eagerly waiting for her forever home. PLEASE NOTE: All your current pets must be spayed/neutered, vaccinated and on heartworm prevention to adopt from Polka Dogz. We only adopt in Florida. All adoption fees go to help all the dogs in the rescue, some of which require extensive medical care. Thank you for caring for the greater good. Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
