Posted Breed: Unknown breed (medium coat). Adoption Fee: 200. This cutie is Efram! This sweet boy wandered up into the yard of a very kind woman who worked to earn his trust. Once she did, they became fast friends. The finder's roommate wasn't so kind though, and wouldn't even let her sleep in her van with Efram in the driveway, so she would move around to different parking places in order to house Efram in her van. She reached out to the rescue for help and we took in this handsome boy. Efram is very nervous at first, but warms up well with a little TLC. So far Efram has not seemed to be very reactive with other dogs, but we recommend proper introductions. Since Efram is a medium sized dog, so we like to recommend a home with a fenced in backyard and/or plans for daily exercise and socialization. Amazing Grace Bully Rescue is a foster based rescue in the Pensacola, Florida area. We do not have a physical building. Efram has had four sets of shots, two dewormings (done prior to adoption), is neutered, current on shots, rabies shot, and a registered microchip. Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
