Description
Posted Breed: Unknown breed (medium coat). Spunky, playful, cuddly with his person, and highly suspicious of new folks, Bo is something of a fairy tale misfit. He is so cute it's like Gund designed him so that at least gives him a bit of an edge over the troll from under the bridge. Unfortunately, his behavior around strangers has caused him to strike out at three different homes, so we're hoping for a brave adventurer to enter the scene that can pass his trials. Once this little furball has had time to decompress, he is pretty low-maintenance in his home. He has the perfect amount of sass to keep you smiling, and he just wants a comfy bed or lap to lay on. That said, his anxiety and insecurity mean he would prefer to be the only pet in an adult-only home. He is looking for a patient and dog-savvy friend to help him transition to a new environment while respecting his very firm boundaries. Like most aging dogs, Bo has a couple of manageable medical needs that will require a full-service vet in the future, including some joint issues and skin allergies that will need monitoring and medication, but so far, it isn't slowing him down one bit. He's looking forward to sharing his sweet face and impish personality with a fellow homebody that's ready to commit to his happily ever after. Breed overview

Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
