NAME: MATTHEW THE RAVEN LITTER: MATTHEW is part of "THE SANDMAN" litter AGE/GENDER: Born 2/08/2023, Male BREED: SHEPHERD/HUSKY MIX TEMPERAMENT: Playful and mischievous HOUSE TRAINING: Good on a consistent schedule. CRATE TRAINING: Good. He eats and sleeps in his crate. OTHER DOGS: Good! He is great with other dogs his size. CATS: Good! Continued socialization will be important! CHILDREN: Dog-respectful children, 8 and older ADOPTION DONATION: $600.00 HEALTH: MATTHEW is healthy!f He is altered, microchipped, flea treated, and dewormed. Your adoption donation goes toward the cost of this vet care as well as transportation and general care costs. HISTORY: Matthew and his siblings were found exposed to the elements in the winter. Fortunately, they were found by our friends in Yakima and brought to Motley Zoo to be bottlefed. NOTES FROM FOSTER HOME: Meet MATTHEW THE RAVEN, a young, playful, and loyal companion who is eagerly waiting for his forever home. Despite his shy demeanor, MATTHEW THE RAVEN has a heart full of love to give and is the sweetest boy around. He loves to play and cuddle, his friendly nature making him a perfect family pet. He's a little shy at first, but with some patience, he'll be your loyal friend. He has basic obedience training under his belt and is wonderful on the leash. MATTHEW THE RAVEN is ready to bring joy and companionship to his new home. If you're looking for a sweet, friendly, and loyal companion, MATTHEW THE RAVEN is the perfect choice for you. All dogs adopted from Motley Zoo come with a leash and either a Martingale collar or a harness, depending on each dog's particular needs. Welcome to Motley Zoo Animal Rescue. We are a 501(c)(3) non-profit animal rescue organization that is run by volunteers. Motley Zoo does not have a brick and mortar shelter location. Instead, all our rescue animals are cared for in private foster homes where the animals receive one-on-one care and attention in a home environment until permanent placement is found. Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
