Posted Breed: Shepherd / Mixed. Hi, My name is Bella or Bell for short! I am considered a "senior" but I have so much life left! When you pet me I love to go through your legs for fun!!! One of my favorite games is to play tug of war and I love to win, hint, hint. Here is what is known of my story. Apparently I was a stray. My foot got caught in a trap which was so scary and painful. Luckily someone found me and I got a wonderful rescue to help me heal and am now looking for a terrific home. Sometimes, when I am home alone I do mess with my back leg too much which can cause a sore. My current foster mom has been working with me the past few weeks and I've improved so much!! I really want a family who will be home most of the time to help me get over my past trauma! I promise you will love me so much! I am potty trained and use a doggy door in my current foster home. As a senior, if there isn't a doggy door, I need to be let out every few hours or I might have an accident (No fault of my own). I'm looking for my forever family to love on and that will love me! Dogs are not placed on a first-come, first-serve basis. We strive to find the perfect home for each animal. Applications may take up to 48 hours to process. Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
