Description
Posted Breed: Hound / Mixed (short coat). Adoption Fee: 185.00. Mr. Freckles is such a good boy! He is calm, laid back, and easy going. He does like to run and play with the other dogs in the backyard. He is potty trained and kennel trained. He kennels up on command. He is only kenneled when no one is home. We are learning basic commands and he is doing great. He is such a quick learner and wants to please! He has never shown any aggression or issues with chewing. Mr. Freckles has earned our trust so he gets to be pretty independent and free roams at night. Mr. Freckles favorite treats are cold watermelon and apples. He loves toys and belly rubs. LOVES his belly rubs! I do believe he will be a larger dog. Mr. Freckles is technically a puppy, but he doesn’t act like it…at all! He is more of an old soul! He would make an excellent family member to a family of any ages!

A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
