Posted Breed: Unknown breed (short coat). MAGIC is an older girl, sweet and laid back. She is good on the leash and pretty friendly, too. She enjoys going for walks and hanging out at your side. It was reported to us that she does have some hip issues which weight loss and joint supplementation might help. Yes, you are correct, that was a nice way to say she is a bit round in her midsection and a few extra walks can help! Do you enjoy casually walking, casually talking, taking in a nice neighborhood stroll? Magic would love that, too! She is 5-8 years old and over 75 pounds. A short visit with you and you might fall in love! She is waiting in a back kennel so if you don't see her, please just ask. Foster Update: My name is Magic and that is what I am! I like to go for car rides, but only if I can have the passenger seat! I love to go for walks and sniff a lot. I am very friendly to people, but I do bark at them at first. Might be an issue with little kids, perhaps? I don’t really care for the beach. Sand is too weird! I am a good guard dog. If I see anyone walking around I will bark and let my people know! I am a cuddle bug. Even tho I am a big dog! I respond to my name and simple commands. I love treats! I have a good appetite, too! VBACAC 341 S Birdneck Road , VB Open daily 12-5 pm And, yes, adoptions are only $1!

Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
