Posted Breed: . **Weekend Special** $100 off any puppy going home this weekend! Leaf is an F1 Standard Bernedoodle male, born on Leap Day, 2/29/24, as part of our Shades of Spring Litter. Leaf is a little gentleman. He will snuggle up to you and take a nap in your arms. He loves the water and is the first to play in the baby pool each day. He is good for bathing and grooming. He is a focused young man, watching what is going in, motivated by attention and praise. Leaf would make a great service dog or a dog for an older couple. We anticipate Leaf being about 50 pounds. Parents are Daisy Mae, an AKC Standard Poodle, and Duke, an AKC Bernese Mtn Dog. Both are Embark tested for genetic health. We follow the Badass Breeders Empowering Puppies Curriculum & have been working daily to desensitize the puppies to grooming, people, noises, etc. Puppies have been temperament tested and results can be supplied for serious adopters. Puppies will come with a health clearance from the vet and 2 puppy shots. Puppies have a clean (full panel) fecal! Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
