Calling operation a kennel is somewhat grandiose. I keep a small pack of poodles, pets, that on occasion will produce a litter to offset the large bill they carry with the house. They’re a bunch of freeloaders really. I think it might be more appropriate to say a small pack of poodles keep a human, me. If they had thumbs I don’t think they would even need me. My life revolves around their care and my dogs are a source of my wellbeing. I’ve always felt, as far back as I can remember I had a special relationship with animals and I do. I spare no expense managing my dogs physical health and mental wellbeing. I have always put a premium on providing human grade protein, fruits and vegetables to their diets in addition to carefully selected premium dog food. Their health is hugely dependent on dental care and grooming. Their emotional wellbeing is dependent on positive and individual attention. Poodles need socialization early. They need to go with you and be taken to public places when allowed, like home improvement stores, Tractor Supply and Petsmart. Poodles have the largest vocabulary of all dog breeds over 200 words. Poodles are commonly listed as the smartest breed of dog. Poodles are water dogs so introduce them to the joy of playing in water early. Since poodles are non-shedding their fur grows like human hair so grooming is a must, even if it’s done at home. Poodles are prone to ear infections and their ear hair must be plucked. Poodles are also prone to bad teeth and must have their teeth pulled early on. The consequences of not having your poodles teeth pulled are severe. My dogs are my housemates and we function as a pack. Pack animals have very specific characteristics that needs to be respected for them to be healthy. Sleeping together is a bonding activity, eat according to the pack order and appreciate the inter-canine relationships. Dogs are very competitive and have distinct alliances, likes and dislikes of each pack member.
