Description
Dog Breed: Pekingese / Pomeranian / Mixed. After being at the rescue for over nine months and watching all the other little girls in her playgroup having so much fun and receiving so much love, Princess Gia has decided…”Hey, why not me too?” She has made an absolutely remarkable transformation from the shy, scared girl she was when she arrived. Princess Gia is now happy, bright, and lively, and seeks out attention and playtime. She still loves to cuddle and receive affection, but now also loves to play, romp around, and just be silly. It’s almost as if she is smiling and jumping for joy, knowing there are loving humans she can trust and love (and other pups too). Princess Gia is certainly a unique beauty, about 4 years old and 9 pounds. She is probably a Pomeranian mix, perhaps with some Pekingese. She walks okay on a leash but prefers to be loose in the yard. Princess Gia’s true, wonderful self has come out and is absolutely shining brightly. If you believe you are a great match for Princess Gia, please put in an application today. Please watch the video at the end of the photos to see this once shy, scared little girl become a happy, fun spirited, playful pup. It is truly heartwarming. Princess Gia’s pals that she is playing with in the videos, Benjamin Ace and Bluebelle, are also available for adoption.

Breed overview
Overview:
The Pominese is a delightful designer breed resulting from the crossing of a Pekingese and a Pomeranian, originating from a desire to combine the best traits of both small companions. Physically, they typically possess a compact build, often with a soft, medium-length double coat that can come in various colors. Their faces can show characteristics of either parent, sometimes having the flatter features of the Pekingese or the more foxy appearance of the Pomeranian, often with expressive eyes. Temperamentally, Pominese are generally affectionate, playful, and intelligent, making them trainable but occasionally exhibiting a stubborn streak. They thrive on human companionship and are well-suited for apartment living due to their small size, though they do enjoy short walks and indoor play. While generally healthy, potential health considerations include patellar luxation, respiratory issues (especially if inheriting a flatter snout), and dental problems, making regular vet check-ups important. Their adaptable and loving nature makes them excellent family pets, particularly for those seeking a charming, devoted small dog.
