Description
Dog Breed: Pit Bull Terrier / Mixed. Mila is a petite little pittie weighing about 40 pounds and estimated to be about 3 years old. She was pulled from a local shelter and is an absolute sweetheart. Mila loves people. She's comfortable in her crate when you're not at home and just loves being by your side when you are at home. Mila would be best in a home with a single companion animal who matches her temperament or as an only dog. She seems to mirror the other dog, if the dog approaches calmly, Mila responds calmly. If a dog approaches reactive, Mila will react is the feedback we received from the shelter. While in foster care she has need fine with the dogs she's met as well as the foster family cat. Mila will be available to go a a forever home after she's spayed. She's up to date on core vaccines and microchipped. Interested in adopting me? To fill out an application visit 3 Hearts 4 Paws. Please note: we generally do not adopt out of state (NJ).

Breed overview
Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
