Description
Dog Breed: Unknown breed (short coat). Photos do this boy absolutely no justice. His eyes are just gorgeous and he is just stunning with a personality to match. Ollie is about 10 months old as of the end of March. He's such an affectionate boy, loves nothing more than being around his people. So far in foster care Pllie has gotten along well with the other dogs. He weight about 20 pounds but we're working on putting a little weight on him, he was very thin when we took him into rescue. Ollie is up to date on core vaccines, microchipped and will be neutered the end of November under the rescue. Interested in adopting me? To fill out an application visit 3 Hearts 4 Paws. Please note: we generally do not adopt out of state unless it is within 1-2 hours of us.

Breed overview

Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
