Description

Dog Breed: German Shepherd Dog / Saluki / Mixed (short coat). Adoption Fee: 300. GEYRAN was saved and cared for by Muscat Dog Adoption, before sending her with other saved dogs to Give a Dog a Home Rescue in Sebec, Maine. They arrived in the US on 28th January 2025 and were transported to the rescue where they are settling in. GEYRAN was cleared by the US canine center for diseases upon entry into the US. She is spayed, rabies, core vaccines, heartworm and tick tested negative, is on monthly preventatives, microchipped, weighs around 56 pounds and has an estimated date of birth or 2 February 2021. She is a front leg amputee. Geyran is the mother of Binky. GEYRAN's (Geeran) Story is that she rescued after her and her pups were shot. Sadly only one of her pups survived and Binky came to the US at the same time as her. Geyran had been a street dog and had her pups on the streets and managed for her family to survive, socializing with some nice locals for about a year before the shooting. She was shot twice in her leg which unfortunately did too much damage and her leg had to be amputated. She is an incredibly happy and social girl who loves everyone she meets. Stray dogs in Oman are referred to as "Wadi Dogs" and are a mix of the popular sighthound breeds, specifically thought to be descendents of the majestic Saluki and other smaller breeds, many resembling whippets with their small agile frames. If not saved these dogs are often shot or brutally ran over and left for dead. We are looking for families that have the lifestyle that the dog needs to lead a healthy, both mentally and physically life, who can afford a GOOD quality food, toys and treats and understand the importance of veterinary wellness checks. GEYRAN is available for adoption for an adoption fee of $300, as noted she is located at the rescue in Sebec, Maine and families are required to complete and submit an adoption application and when approved schedule an appointment to come to the rescue to meet and hopefully take home this precious girl home.
