Description
Dog Breed: Papillon. How to Adopt Zuzu is a spirited puppy. She's a charming girl who arrived at our rescue as a breeder release from a commercial breeding facility. While she did not have the same start in life that puppies born in a family do, she is a little timid to start. However, with a little time to develop her trust she blossoms into a charming companion, Like all puppies, she will need structure and a patient, loving home. We recommend training for all puppies—not only to give Zuzu important learning skills, but because you and your puppy will create a stronger bond just by going through the training together. Zuzu is fully vetted. She has been spayed, received age-appropriate vaccines, and is microchipped. Subsequent vaccines will be at the expense of her adopter. Her adoption donation is $1200.00. She is on the hunt for her own completely committed family. Little dogs can live to be 20+ years old, so Zuzu wants to be sure her family is all in for better or for worse! IF INTERESTED IN A PUPPY (UNDER 12 MONTHS): You must have a flexible work schedule or someone home all day. Puppies need to be let out to potty often. They need socialization, bonding, and training (housetraining and behavioral training). If you work long hours, have a busy social schedule, or are not financially secure, then a puppy is not for you. We adopt in the local Chicago metro area. We require home visits. If you would like to apply to be considered as an adoption candidate for Zuzu, please fill out an application for her adoption on our website at: .rescuetailsanimalwelfare/info/adoption. The first step in the process is to complete an application. We are all volunteers with full-time jobs. We try to get back to all applicants within 72 hours. We are an in home foster group. We are not a brick and mortar, If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to us at: RescueTailsAnimalWelfaregmail. If you aren’t looking to adopt but still would like to help Zuzu , please consider a donation for her food, housing, and veterinary care. To donate, please visit: .rescuetailsanimalwelfare

Overview:
The enchanting Papillon, whose name translates to "butterfly" in French, truly lives up to its moniker with its distinctive, fringed ears that resemble delicate wings. Originating from European royalty and depicted in art as early as the 16th century, these elegant toy dogs were once known as Continental Toy Spaniels. Physically, they are small but sturdy, typically weighing between 5 to 10 pounds, with a long, silky coat that requires regular brushing to prevent tangles. Their temperament is a delightful blend of intelligence, playfulness, and affection, making them highly trainable and eager to please. Papillons are surprisingly energetic for their size, enjoying walks and mental stimulation, yet they are equally content to cuddle on a lap. They are generally well-suited for apartment living due to their compact size, and their friendly nature often makes them good companions for families with older, respectful children. While generally healthy, responsible breeders screen for potential issues such as patellar luxation and progressive retinal atrophy. Overall, the Papillon is a charming, adaptable companion that brings joy and elegance to any home.
