Description
Dog Breed: Australian Cattle Dog/Blue Heeler / Mixed (medium coat). Cattle Dog mix, female, 1.5 years old Queen Sabine, not sure how many synonyms there are for “GEM,” but this girl is it! She’s so deserving. She is stunningly beautiful, super loyal, a saint around other dogs and cohabitates peacefully with cats, and loves affection! Love language = affection She’s only 2.5 years young, which means she’s still incredibly active and can do all the adventurous things, but it also means she’s mature and knows how to chill. At 37lbs full grown, she’s compact too. Here is what her fosters are saying: One of my favorite Sabine qualities is that she’s a people pleaser, which is part of what makes her an easy keeper. A well timed recall whistle, "Eh!" or "good girl" goes a long with Sabine, and she internalizes it for next time that scenario pops up. When she knows she's done something right, she will plant her butt down, and look straight up at you, awaiting the required pets. Sabine is located in Templeton, CA. She is microchipped, spayed, and UTD on vaccines. More photos and updates: .facebook/media/set/?set=a.1376027743358876&type=3 Interested in Sabine? Please complete an application at: bit.ly/CCHDR_App

Breed overview

Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
