Description
Dog Breed: Australian Cattle Dog/Blue Heeler / Border Collie / Mixed (medium coat). Bluey is SO ready for a forever home! She has fit nicely into her adults-only foster home But has done well with children over the age of five who are knowledgeable about hurting breeds, and would not be startled if Bluey shows some herding behavior around them.she’s beautifully housetrained, current vaccines, current with her heartworm testing, and is even microchip. Her foster mom loves her, but knows that it will be better for Bluey to be in a forever home where she can continue her bonding and have her new life ready to go. Are you looking for a dog with spunk and energy, one who can live successfully with male dogs, but doesn’t really feel the need to interact or play with other dogs? This is one that might be a good match for you. She is not an outgoing, little dog, so does not require trips to a park, or socialization with other dogs. She would love to be one on one with someone who does not have high expectations for her other than companion and perhaps farm living. Probably not the best with cats. We will check to see what her interaction with poultry was as she recently visited a family who had chickens and ducks. Does she sound like a good match for you? Our sweet little Bluey is making herself right at home in a foster home after being a rescue for only two days. We are told her owner brought her to the shelter because she and the female Chihuahua in the home did not get along, and she showed too much herding behavior toward the Chihuahua puppy. We who understand the breed know how driven they are to make things right. We do not feel after assessing her behavior with other dogs that she was in anyway being mean to the puppy, but was most likely correcting and doing what comes naturally. Bluey is well socialized, and loves going for walks with her foster mom where she does appropriate meets and greets every time she runs into some new dog. What an awesome girl.
