She’s a confident, social pup who’s excited to join you on your next adventure! This sweet and affectionate medium-energy girl would do great in a home with as a single dog or with a laid-back fur sibling. Evie gets along well with other dogs with a proper introduction. Even though she hasn’t had much exposure to kids, she has a very friendly disposition and would likely do well with dog-savvy kids. She is the gentlest treat taker in town and gives the best hugs! Evie's favorite activities are playing fetch with a tennis ball (she brings it back every time!) and playging "go find" for treats. When she's done playing, she is down for a good snuggle session. This intelligent and independent girl is house and crate trained. Evie may protest being in the crate at first but settles down after a few minutes. She is making great strides with her leash skills and is learning basic training commands. There is no doubt she will continue to thrive with a confident owner ready to continue with her basic training. If you are looking for an adorable floof of a pup (did we mention she looks like a teddy bear?), then Evie is your girl! A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
