Description
Dog Breed: Labrador Retriever / Shepherd / Mixed. Mela is an affectionate girl that bonds closely and loves to be with her people. She is around 2.5 to 3 years old and we believe she is a mix of Lab, Shepherd and Akita. She is a loving and loyal girl protective of her people and champion cuddler. Mela enjoys snuggles, is calm but playful, and is housetrained in her current foster home. Mela has come a long way in her foster home where she thrives with a firm pack leader and well established rules and boundaries. Her ideal home would be one with her own backyard and a dog buddy to play with. She has greatly improved when it comes to barking and she has learned it's not her duty to keep her foster home safe from strangers visiting but she is looking for a family that understands a more protective breed like a Shepherd or Akita and that it can take some time for her to settle in. She likes to play with other dogs once she gets to know them and would be very happy with another playful dog in the home. Her snuggles are second to none, she is a smart and very easy to train girl, and has nice house manners (but does insist on couch privileges!). If you think you are ready to add to your family by adopting Mela, then fill out an adoption questionnaire on our website today! We recommend completing the questionnaire and connecting with an adoption coach before looking for a dog or puppy you'd like to adopt. If you're already approved to adopt or if you've adopted from Labs and More before, connect with your adoption coach for the next steps. Your interest in adopting a rescued dog or puppy from Labs and More Rescue is appreciated! Please find our adoption information at .labsandmore. Many of the dogs we rescue require extensive surgeries and care prior to adoption. Please understand we are unable to predict future behavior or medical needs of your adopted dog.
