Description
Dog Breed: Terrier / Mixed (short coat). Adoption Fee: $350. Jarrett is still looking for his perfect person or family! He is a total goofball who makes his foster mom laugh and smile daily. He is a big lovebug. This roughly 65lb hunk and ultimate couch snuggler is a beautiful blue and white pittie who is around 2 years old. He is crate trained, house trained, knows sit and rides nicely in the car. He knows no strangers and is brave and friendly out in public. He is still working on containing his excitement when meeting new people but all he wants to do is say hello and get attention. He walks well on a leash but does pull hard when he sees a human or dog friend he wants to meet. Jarrett would make a great solo dog since he is a confident guy who will happily occupy himself in the yard or the house with toys and bones. He has also been very good with the many other dogs in his foster home. He is a playful pup when he does have a friend around so a playful playmate would be his best match. He is too interested in kitties to have a cat friend in his forever home. He is a pittie lovers dream looking to be loved and spoiled until the end. Breed overview

Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
