Description

Dog Breed: Anatolian Shepherd / Mixed (medium coat). Meet Buttercup, the adorable fluffy Anatolian mix! He has been easy to leash and enjoys being pet by staff and volunteers. Buttercup has history of living with similarly sized dogs and may enjoy a canine companion. Buttercup is looking for a home without felines or small sized animals (including ducks and chickens) due to prey drive observed in the previous home. Buttercup's adoption fee is sponsored by the Santa Cruz County Animal Shelter Foundation thanks to “Leave No One Behind fund” – designed to adopter’s eyes towards animals who have been in the Shelter’s care a little longer than average waiting for the right adopter. Please note: Our Santa Cruz location’s Shelter hours are 11-6pm, 7 days a week! Although clients can walk through and see any animals in their kennels during open hours, we end “meet and greets” (aka meeting an animal out of the kennel) at 4:30pm every day. If you’d like to meet an animal out of the kennel, please arrive before 4:00pm to allow for time to discuss individual animals and meet them.
