Adoption Fee: 300. *This animal is a part of our “Seniors for Seniors” program where we offer senior adopters an opportunity to adopt an eligible pet at a discounted fee.* Meet Ruger – the tiny old man with a big opinion and even bigger sunbathing goals. Also known as Rugie, this 12-year-old Chihuahua mix is basically your retired neighbor who won’t come to the BBQ but insists you bring him a plate. When he first arrived, he spent two weeks hiding in his kennel like a dramatic soap opera character—but give him some treats and gentle words, and suddenly he’s the mayor of the house. Rugie thrives on attention like it’s oxygen. He must be the center of the party, even if that party is just you trying to eat dinner in peace. He’s got the spirit of a younger pup, the bladder of a much older man (yes, there may be a surprise puddle now and then), and the fashion sense of someone who thinks sunbathing on a heating pad is a lifestyle. This little man lives for walks. If he had his way, he’d be out all day, catching rays in the yard like a four-legged lizard who’s judging your life choices from the patio. He gets along great with other dogs—probably because he knows being small and spicy works better with backup. He’s a lover of toys, snuggling in bed, and making sure you never forget he exists… even for five minutes. So if you’re looking for a pint-sized companion who thinks he's the king of the castle, Ruger’s your guy. Just know he comes with a little attitude, a lot of love, and an unshakable belief that the warmest spot in the house belongs to him. Ruger is from a local shelter.
