Description
Dog Breed: Unknown breed. Adoption Fee: 200. Oh sweet Alfred! Alfred came to us from a local area shelter. He went in to be neutered by their vet and it was discovered that he had a severe heart murmur. He is the happiest puppy and you would never know he had anything wrong with him. He has been seen by the cardiologist who has diagnosed him with severe pulmonary stenosis, and tricuspid valve dysplasia with mild to moderate tricuspid regurgitation. His foster mom is happy to discuss the visit in further detail with anyone seriously interested. We don't know how long he will be around for but we would love for him to be loved by someone for whatever days he has left which could be weeks or could be years. He is currently not in heart failure and is managed by a daily medication that is compounded due to his small size currently. The cost of that is $76/month. We know it's a long shot but we hope there is someone out there with a large heart willing to take a chance knowing that he won't be around forever. He is up to date on vaccines, prevention and dewormed. His adoption fee is $200. If you think you could be his forever, please fill out this link for the application: toolkit.rescuegroups/of/f?c=SGVJMGQY

Breed overview

Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
