Description
Dog Breed: Shepherd / Mixed. Meet Daisy! Daisy is a sweet, playful puppy with a calm, gentle nature for her age. She loves toys (especially squeaky ones!), playing in water, and romping around with other pups. She's mostly potty trained, crate trained, and sleeps through the night with minimal fuss. Daisy is smart and food-motivated—she’s learning "sit" and doing great with training. She gets along well with other dogs and is curious but respectful around cats. While she hasn’t been around young kids, she’s done well with adults and older children. This gorgeous girl will likely grow to be a big dog, and she’s ready to bring joy to her forever home. She rides well in the car and loves cuddling after playtime. Don’t wait—Daisy is a lovable pup who won’t be available for long! This dog is up to date on vaccinations and is spayed or neutered. (Please note: Puppies under 3 months old may not be sterilized prior to adoption. If this is the case, your adoption coordinator will provide guidance on the process.) Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
