Description
Dog Breed: Australian Cattle Dog/Blue Heeler / Mixed (short coat). Adoption Fee: 500. Meet Laurin! This 5-month-old Heeler mix is a super energetic and curious pup who needs at least 20 minutes of daily backyard zoomies to burn off her excitement. She loves running after toys and rolling around in the grass, having a blast outside. She enjoys licking peanut butter off bones, keeping her busy and happy. Always wanting to know what’s going on, she follows you everywhere, even into the bathroom. Laurin has fun tearing up egg cartons, which you give her to chew and rip apart, keeping her mind busy and letting her play in a safe way. At first, she’s a bit shy, but by the third day, she’s full of energy and super friendly. After all her running around, she turns into a cuddly dog, loving to snuggle up close. She gets along great with three small dogs her size and plays well with them, but she hasn’t met bigger dogs yet. Her lively and loving personality makes her perfect for an active home that can keep up with her energy and give her lots of attention. A securely fenced in yard is required for placement because this little lady loves to run and explore. A playful resident put would also be great but she would do equally as well with an active family If you are interested in adopting/meeting this pup , please complete our online adoption application that you can find here: .starfishanimalrescue/adopt/dog-adoption-application . Your application will be reviewed by our team and if it is a good fit, we will send to the foster family to set up a meet! Breed overview

Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
