Description
Dog Breed: Labrador Retriever / Great Pyrenees / Mixed. Adoption Fee: 600. Peakes is a bright, beautiful puppy with a heartwarming story. She was found huddled next to a gravestone in a quiet cemetery, clearly frightened but already showing the spark of intelligence and resilience that defines her. Peakes appears to have Labrador roots, while her siblings resemble a German Shepherd and a Great Pyrenees—three breeds known for their brains, loyalty, and need for mental and physical engagement. She’s a thinker and a problem-solver, which means she’ll thrive in a home where she gets plenty of enrichment, training, and affection. She’s still a bit shy around new people. Her intelligence and sensitivity make her a joy to train, and she’s already showing signs of being a fast learner. Peakes would do best with an adopter who has experience with working breeds and understands the importance of patience, structure, and ongoing training. If you're looking for a devoted companion and love the challenge of bringing out the best in a smart pup, Peaches might be your perfect match. Peakes is from Texas. They arrive in Minnesota on July 12th and will need to be picked up from the Ruff Start Rescue office in Princeton, MN between the hours of 9am-1pm. Please plan for their arrival accordingly as we cannot accommodate pickups outside of this time frame. Since they haven’t arrived yet, they are available exclusively through Ruff Start’s Foster to Adopt (FTA) Program. Click here to learn more about the FTA program. Once they get to Minnesota, they might require further veterinary care. Ruff Start’s veterinary suite is located in Princeton, MN, and, as the foster, you will be required to transport your dog to and from these vetting appointments. If you are interested in getting to know this animal better, please fill out an adoption application. An adoption application is the best way to show your interest in an animal and is not a binding contract. To learn more about Ruff Start’s adoption process and the care our foster animals receive, please visit our How to Adopt page. *Rescue puppies are notorious for losing their birth certificates before entering our rescue. We cannot guarantee the breed or size they will be full grown.* If you are unable to adopt but want to help this animal and others in our care, you can donate to support the medical and veterinary needs of all Ruff Start Rescue animals.

Breed overview

Overview:
Labrenees or Pyrador is the mix of one large-sized dog; the Great Pyrenees and one medium-sized dog; Labrador Retriever. As a hybrid, it has better quality than its parent breeds as the traits and characteristics are mixed. These are very large dogs that are typically more cooperative and trainable than the Great Pyrenees, but more discriminating and naturally protective than the Labrador Retriever.
