Dog Breed: Australian Cattle Dog/Blue Heeler / Catahoula Leopard Dog / Mixed (medium coat). Cattle Dog mix, male 1 year old Otis is a one-year old, 63 pound Cattle Dog. He was brought into Castaic as a stray, in May. A staff favorite, they were very happy we got Otis out safely! Otis has been in foster for the last week getting a taste of home life…a family, kids, exposure to the outside world and he’s loving every minute of it. Sure, he can zoom it up at the rescue ranch, but what we’re learning is he’s actually a pretty low-moderate energy dog. He enjoys couch snuggles and just hanging with his people. A few daily walks or a hike or two here and there would suffice. Here is what his foster (who adores him by the way) has to say: “He’s good with kids and other dogs. He’s a little skittish in new environments and still learning how to walk on a leash. But, he’s a follow the leader kind of guy, so if I get my dog to walk on a leash, he’ll walk on a leash. If I get my dog to jump in the car, he’ll jump in the car. If my dog goes outside and goes potty, he’ll go potty. Oh and he loves car rides!” Otis is neutered, chipped, vaxed, all the things!
