Dog Breed: Red Heeler / Cattle Dog / Mixed (short coat). Meet Howie! This adorable 9 month old, 42 pound Heeler mix is ready to find his forever family! Howie came to us from a local hoarding and neglect case, and while his past wasn’t easy, he’s been learning what love and kindness really mean. Once he knows you’re a friend, he lights up and LOVES attention from his humans. Howie is eager to please, treat motivated, leash trained, and already mastering basic commands like “sit”. He’s crate trained and finds comfort in his safe space. Potty training is still a work in progress after where he came from, but he’s making great strides and just needs a patient, consistent routine. He gets along well with other dogs after an introduction and he enjoys playtime, though he’d also be perfectly happy as your one and only. He’s even good with cats! Howie loves toys, bully sticks, and bones. He’s still a puppy so continued training is a must. He is now neutered, fully vetted, up to date on vaccines, heartworm tested, microchipped, and dewormed. His adoption donation is $375. All of our animals are in volunteer foster homes. Once an application is pre-approved (contingent upon a home check) we will contact applicants that are a good match and set up a time for a meet. At that time we are happy to answer all of your questions. No inquiries prior to that please. All of our animals are spayed/neutered, examined by a vet, up-to-date on vaccinations, on heartworm and flea/tick preventatives, and microchipped. We adopt our animals as strictly inside companion pets. We will do a veterinarian reference check and a home safety check. We are located in Omaha, NE and we do not ship our animals. We are all volunteers so please be patient with us. Our requested adoption fees help go towards medical expenses, food, transportation, toys, and other supplies for our animals.
