Description
Dog Breed: Anatolian Shepherd (medium coat). Meet Greta, the Caucasian Shepherd. Yes, we have her listed as an Anatolian Shepherd but that is because our database doesnât have a breed option of Caucasian Shepherd. Any hoo â this sweet soul has been through a lot of transition in the past few months and is looking for a savvy adopter to create a safe place for her to blossom in. We donât know much about her past beyond the fact that a group of good Samaritans had seen her wandering around the Aptos woods for about two weeks with another dog. Once safely contained in a yard, she was brought into the safety of the Shelter. Greta is reserved and understandably a little shell shocked from the large amount of transition she has endured in the past few weeks. A patient, experienced adopter is recommended to help her transition into her adoptive home and blossom. Greta has met other dogs and has been neutral around easy going pups. Any resident dogs should meet prior to adoption. Please note: Our Santa Cruz locationâs Shelter hours are 11-6pm, 7 days a week! Although clients can walk through and see any animals in their kennels during open hours, we end âmeet and greetsâ (aka meeting an animal out of the kennel) at 4:30pm every day. If youâd like to meet an animal out of the kennel, please arrive before 4:00pm to allow for time to discuss individual animals and meet them.
