He is a charming dog with a quirky and fun personality. He has a low to medium energy level; he loves playing with toys and romping in the backyard, but will settle in his crate for a post play nap. He can be a bit reserved at first, but with time, gentle encouragement and treats he will become your new best friend. He would do amazing in a home with or without a doggy sibling. This lover of all dogs wants to go say hi to every pup he meets! He thrives being around other dogs. He has ignored the four cats in his foster home and has done well with kids, although he would do best with dog savvy children who can give him the space he needs while he gets to know them. He loves his toys, especially his squeaky ones and will entertain himself often, making him a low maintenance puppy. Albus is crate trained and will happily go in for meals and bedtime. He is also housetrained on a schedule. He goes on walks every day and is doing well with his leash skills. He'll continue to thrive and build confidence with consistency. A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
