Dog Breed: Terrier / Mixed. Born to be loved, hugged, and cherished. There is no shortage of sweetness when it comes to these little 3-month-old mixed breed cuties. They are sure to be everything their forever family is looking for. A little bit of curiosity, fun and adventure is a day in the life of Ziggy. He is starting off small of around 19 pounds but looking into the future, this boy will certainly get bigger. Where he stops is certainly a guess and our best estimate is that he will be a large dog of somewhere over 60 pounds when he is fully grown. He has a big heart and a big personality already so there is no guesswork there. Navigating through life has its challenges but if you have friends along the way, it makes life interesting. Ziggy is a big fan of meeting and spending time with other dogs, children, and cats. Frequent interactions with friends are a big part of what Ziggy envisions for himself. Play and exploration are taken to the next level when he has a friend along with him. A day full of play, exploration and socializations are just what Ziggy is looking for. There is sure to be adventures around every corner and Ziggy will be first in line. Ziggy is learning about the expectations of house, crate, and leash skills. He is onboard at being a professional at each one and is willing to put in hard work and commitment to make his family proud of him. Every journey starts with a single step. When it comes to emotions, you do not always get a choice, and love can come crashing in to break down barriers. That includes the cost of spaying/neutering, up to date vaccinations, foster care, rescue and transportation fees. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
