Dog Breed: Anatolian Shepherd / Mixed (medium coat). Meet Shasta, a gentle Anatolian Shepherd mix with a soft spirit and soulful eyes. This sweet girl is shut down in the shelter—overwhelmed and unsure, but trying her best. We wish she could tell us her story so we could help her understand she’s finally safe and loved. On the smaller side for her breed, Shasta is making slow but steady progress with kind, consistent care. She’s not ready to light up the room just yet, but we know her smile is in there, waiting for the right person to bring it out. A quiet, patient home is what she needs most—ideally with a confident dog friend who can show her the way. Shasta is ready to write a new chapter. Could you be her happy ever after? Shasta recently met some social dogs at our shelter and did fine. She wasn’t ready to play, but we hope that as she gets more experience in our shelter playgroups, she’ll be ready to show us her silly side with other dogs. Looking for a buddy for your dog?
