Description
Dog Breed: Black Labrador Retriever / Mixed. Lilac is a beautiful 6-month-old lab mix who is ready to find her forever home! She was discovered alone on a local utah tribal reservation by an officer when she was just a small puppy. Now nearly 50 lbs, she is a thriving teenager who is mostly full grown and ready to make her way in the world! Lilac is full of energy and loves to play with the other dogs in her foster home, with her toys, and with her people! She is extremely smart and learns quickly. Lilac is house and crate trained, and is trustworthy enough to sleep uncrated at night. Some of her favorite things include zoomies in the backyard, tug of war, and playing with other dogs in her foster home. Lilac loves attention and wants to follow her humans around the house. She would really enjoy a forever home with a canine companion. Lilac will make an amazing companion, and will be well suited for all sorts of adventures. Lilac is fixed, vaccinated, microchipped, dewormed and health checked. Her adoption fee is just $200. To be considered, please apply online at caws. Thanks! Breed overview

Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
