Dog Breed: Australian Cattle Dog/Blue Heeler (short coat). Hanzel is just 2 1/2 months old (DOB: 5/15/25) and is blue Heeler mix. Coloring is white, with some black, brown and lots of speckles. He is a cute little pup. Hanzel can be adopted, but can't go home with anyone until a bit older, has all immunizations and a visit to the Vet. Hanzel will be medium size when grown. Amarillo SPCA, 11901 S. Coulter. 806-622-0555. Open Tues.-Sat. 12 to 5 p.m.

In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term.
