Description
Dog Breed: Australian Cattle Dog/Blue Heeler (medium coat). Cattle Dog mix puppy female Meet our newest landshark, Luna! Before you just hit apply because there’s a ridiculously cute 16-week old, 16-lb, blue heeler staring back at you please read the entire bio. Only then if you think you have what it takes to turn this girl around and raise her right, show us what you got. Luna came to us severely under-socialized. Classic case of what appears to be a pure bred heeler ending up in the wrong hands at too young of an age. Enter CCHDR and our brave rockstar fosters, Doug and Stacey to help rehabilitate Luna before it’s too late. True to the breed, Luna is smarter than a rocket scientist. She’s extremely treat motivated which makes for a fun and easy-to-train dog. Her recall, impeccable! Also true to the breed, she’s high energy and high strung. Luna is not your snuggle on the couch after a walk around the block kind of dog. She needs a strong leader and a full time job that offers overtime. She’d also benefit from having another balanced dog or two in the home to help offer guidance and correction in a language only dogs understand. Luna is located in Templeton, CA and is microchipped, on a vaccine schedule, and can go home on a spay contract. We will only consider breed savvy, training-focused applications for Luna at this time. More phots and updates: .facebook/media/set/?set=a.1505363090425340&type=3 Interested in Luna? Breed overview

Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
