Luna is a 7-year-old French Bulldog with a winning combination of charm, brains, and a deep love of snuggling. Whether she’s lounging at home or tagging along on an outing, she brings a calm, steady presence that makes her a joy to be around. At home, Luna is affectionate, gentle, and happiest when she’s close to her people. She spends most of her day napping nearby or chewing contentedly on a bone. But don’t let the naps fool you—she comes alive when it’s time to play fetch with her favorite ball. She’s also crate trained and potty trained, though she does best with a consistent schedule and can’t be left for long periods without a potty break. Out in the world, Luna is confident and polite. She walks beautifully on a leash, rides well in the car, and is calm in public spaces like parks and patios. She stays close to her person, observes everything around her, and attracts plenty of admiration everywhere she goes. Luna gets along well with other dogs, enjoys the company of calm kids, and is friendly with adults once she feels safe. She can be protective when strangers first arrive but warms up quickly. Mealtime is her favorite part of the day, and she may guard her food a bit—she takes her kibble seriously! Fortunately, she’s very treat-motivated, which makes training a breeze. Because she’s heat-sensitive (like many Frenchies), she’ll need a home that keeps her cool and comfortable. A fenced yard is not required, but she’d enjoy having one—or at least a place to toss a ball around. Luna would thrive in a home where someone is around most of the time, as she truly enjoys companionship. She’s a low-energy sweetheart with a playful streak, a loyal heart, and the perfect mix of adventure and snuggles. If you’re looking for a constant companion who will stick by your side through thick and thin, Luna just might be your girl. Please note that some of our dogs are obtained from shelters, surrendered to our care, or released from breeders. Each dog receives basic grooming when coming into rescue, but for some dogs they have not received grooming attention until recently and grooming may be required shortly after adoption. This will be at the adopter’s expense, so we encourage you to research the breed and be prepared for grooming expenses. Underdog cannot guarantee hypoallergenic or non-shedding qualities of any dogs in our rescue. Some of the animals come from situations where they are lacking experience in a home and confidence in humans. In turn, they require another companion dog and/or a fenced in yard in their forever home in order for them to feel safe. Please understand that all of our pets are in volunteer foster homes and sometimes "life" happens and the foster family cannot make it to their scheduled adoption event. FOSTER CARE: All of our animals are fostered in individual homes or doggie daycare facilities. While they are in our care, they are part of our families and given lots of love. We work on training, crate-training and socialization prior to adoption, but each bio is written by the foster as they see them, in their home. Each animal's behavior is evaluated and we have a sense of its temperament and personality, but it cannot be guaranteed. We look for adopters who will give each animal the wonderful life and permanent home that he or she deserves in time and with patience. NUTRITION: Nutrition is vital to the rehabilitation and life-long health of our pets.
