Dog Breed: Vizsla / Beagle / Mixed. Adoption Fee: 600. OscarTheGrouch was found wandering the streets with no collar or chip, flea-covered, dirty, and in rough shape. Despite all that, he greets every person and dog like they’re his new best friend. He’s curious, goofy, and smart—quick to adjust to new surroundings and quick to learn. OscarTheGrouch loves water, fetch, toys, and being near his people. He can entertain himself for a bit, but he likes knowing you’re in sight. He’s playful in a “cat-like” way, often deciding without warning that playtime is over and it’s time to curl up next to you. At bedtime, he likes a quick play session before snuggling in for the night. Crate training will be his biggest hurdle—being alone is stressful for him—so his ideal home is with someone who’s around more often than not. He’d be happy with kids, other dogs, and a yard to play in, but most of all, he just wants time with his humans. OscarTheGrouch is from Texas. They arrive in Minnesota on 8/22/2025 and will need to be picked up from the Ruff Start Rescue office in Princeton, MN between the hours of 9am and noon. Please plan for their arrival accordingly as we cannot accommodate pickups outside of this time frame. Since they haven’t arrived yet, they are available exclusively through Ruff Start’s Foster to Adopt (FTA) Program. Click here to learn more about the FTA program. Once they get to Minnesota, they might require further veterinary care. Ruff Start’s veterinary suite is located in Princeton, MN, and, as the foster, you will be required to transport your dog to and from these vetting appointments.
