Description
Dog Breed: Terrier / Mixed (medium coat). Hi there! I'm Penny! Iâve got a wag that could power a wind turbine and a heart full of love⦠once I get to know you. See, I love people!! I really do!! I want to be near you, get pets, belly rubs, all the attention. But Iâll be honest... I need a little time to warm up. New folks make me a tiny bit unsure at first. I might hang back, watch from a safe distance, sniff the air a bit... but give me some time, some space, maybe a treat or two, and Iâll be nudging your hand for scritches in no time. Now, playtime? Thatâs my jam. Whether itâs a game of tug, chase, or rolling around being goofy, Iâm in. Iâve got energy to burn and a silly streak a mile wide. Once Iâm comfortable, itâs full-speed fun! Zoomies, silly bounces, and all the tail wags you can handle. The one thing Iâm still figuring out? This whole leash thing. I get excited. Or nervous. Or distracted. Or all three. Sometimes I pull, sometimes I freeze, and sometimes I zigzag like Iâm trying to read every scent on the sidewalk at once. Iâm trying, I promise. I just need patience, practice, and someone who gets that Iâm still learning. But once I trust you, youâll have a loyal, playful, people-loving buddy for life. Letâs take it one step (and treat) at a time.

Breed overview

Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
