Description
Dog Breed: Australian Cattle Dog/Blue Heeler / Mixed (medium coat). Cattle Dog mix male puppy Welcome Radar! What do you call an ACD mixed with a Dachshund? The cutest thing on the planet that’s what! This little clown is town thanks to former CCHDR adopter, Dennis who scooped Radar from the Tulare County Animal Shelter on his way from the Central Valley to the coast. Radar is a 10-12 month old bundle of hilarity. He is so dang cute and sweet. Upon arrival, he immediately packed up with the resident dogs and it’s been party on ever since. If you’re looking for a little 20lb low-rider companion for you or a playful resident dog (he’d love to have another dog buddy), look no further. He rides great in the car, handles nicely on leash, is super sweet with people and other dogs, and seems to have ball fetching champ written all over him. Kid-tested, mother approved. Cats unknown at this time. Radar is microchipped, neutered, and UTD on vaccines. Located in Pismo Beach, CA. Breed overview

Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
