Description
Dog Breed: Unknown breed. This has been one of the hardest decisions I’ve had to make. My cousin originally owned these pets, but after he was deported, it became too expensive to send them back to him. I stepped in because I didn’t want them to end up in a shelter, and I truly wanted to give them a safe and loving place. For a while, I tried my best to care for them. Unfortunately, over time it became clear that I simply don’t have the time or the financial stability to give them the life they deserve. Between work, personal responsibilities, and the rising cost of their care, I’m not able to keep up. Letting them go is heartbreaking, but I know it’s the right thing to do. They deserve a home where they can receive consistent care, attention, and love—something I can’t fully provide right now. My hope is to find them a kind and responsible person or family so they can continue to thrive without the uncertainty they’ve already been through. I am also surrendering his siblings, please reach out. **** Breed: Cocker Mix **** Pet Link: .nokillnetwork/adoption/pet_detail.php?petid=2186843&flag=1

Breed overview

Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
