HAPPY HENRY HENRY is a beautiful and fun-loving Aussie-Border Collie mix who is young and active, loving his life in foster with new canine and human friends. Henry was rescued from a rural shelter where he was a Staff Favorite dog; when they reached out to us we picked him up the next day! Henry has been with a foster family with other dogs and older kids and he gets along well with everyone and enjoys playing with the medium sized dog and has learned to retrieve toys. He’s been neutered, he’s housebroken and loves everyone he meets. Henry is sweet and gentle; he’s mild-mannered indoors but also fun and active when there’s someone who wants to play. He really loves to run around outside and needs a spacious backyard. He will definitely need leash-training as that’s one area that is challenging in foster homes but we are sure he will learn quickly! Henry is not a fan of thunderstorms and will need an owner who is patient with him. Henry is very smart, he’s adapted to car rides, he’s been to the vet and to a dog-wash as well as a couple of errands. He’s looking to bond with his humans so we really want to find the right home soon. Like all rescue Aussies Henry will need time to decompress in his new home. We are looking for an active person or couple who have herding breed experience and where Henry won’t be left alone all day. We KNOW Henry would LOVE a canine companion, a similar size or larger female or another submissive male would be perfect! If you’re looking for a sweet, funny new fur friend this handsome red-headed blue-eyed boy could be for you! Please complete our application on our website below then TEXT SARA: 214-549-9905 Thank you! .dashdog General Info - PLEASE READ! *Our $450 adoption fee is based on the cost of rescuing, transporting and vetting each dog; we do not try to compete on prices with municipal shelters whose funds are paid by the city. Our philosophy is to rescue highly adoptable dogs, have them live kennel-free in private homes for temperament assessments and individual personalities. We work hard to match EACH dog with the right family - kids or no kids, other dogs male or female and/or cats. With very rare exceptions all dogs over 6 months will be spayed or neutered PRIOR to adoption - dogs under 6 months will include a spay/neuter date AND referral info for lower-cost surgery if the adopter does not choose to use her or his personal vet. OUR VETS WILL NOT PERFORM SPAY NEUTER SURGERIES UNTIL DOG IS 6 MONTHS OLD. Please READ ALL of our info below BEFORE SENDING APPLICATION. Our goal is to help our puppies and dogs find FOREVER HOMES AND FAMILIES, NOT TO MAKE IT PROHIBITIVE FOR YOU TO ADOPT. However, once we review the application and contact you, we MEET TO ADOPT, so please let us know if you are ONLY APPLYING TO STAY ON FILE or THAT YOU ARE READY TO ADOPT, for the consideration of our puppies and dogs and families who know the time is right! Overview:
The Australian Shepherd is intelligent and very loyal to his owner. He's a working dog, though, so he does best when his owner gives him a job to do ' such as herding livestock.
