Description
Dog Breed: Yorkshire Terrier Yorkie / Mixed (short coat). Adoption Fee: 450. Meet Wrinkles, a 10-pound 2 yr old Yorkie mix with a heart as big as his curious, soulful eyes. At just a year old, this pint-sized pup may have earned his name from the adorable folds on his expressive face, each one telling a story of resilience and hope. Wrinkles is a shy boy, still learning to trust the world around him after what might have been a tough start in life. His past may have left him cautious, but his spirit is far from broken. This independent little guy is slowly finding his way, thanks to the love and companionship of other dogs who show him that humans can be kind. You’ll catch a glimpse of his budding joy when his tiny tail wags as you walk through the door—a small but mighty sign that he’s ready to open his heart. Wrinkles wants to love fiercely; he’s just figuring out how, one cautious step at a time. Wrinkles has quirks that make him uniquely endearing. His bark, a quirky squeal that’s part pig, part bird, is sure to make you smile. He’s treat-motivated but approaches with caution, savoring each moment as he builds trust. Ever the resourceful pup, Wrinkles buries his food tray under blankets, perhaps a heartbreaking habit from a time when he felt the need to save for later. He rarely finishes a meal in one go, but his careful nibbling only adds to his charm. This sweet, reserved boy is a treasure waiting to shine. With patience, love, and a gentle hand, Wrinkles will blossom into a loyal companion who repays every ounce of kindness with an eternity of devotion. Give this little guy a chance, and he’ll show you the magic of a wagging tail and a heart learning to love again. Adopt Wrinkles, and let his journey to trust become your greatest adventure. Breed overview

Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
