Description
Dog Breed: Terrier / Mixed (long coat). This little senior finds herself looking for a new home. She's the sweetest girl once she gets to know you. Bambi is estimated to be 10-12 years old. She was terrified at the shelter, growling and snapping but once in foster care she's just been the happiest little girl. She'll twirl when she sees her food coming, gets so excited in the morning to see you, sleeps through the night with no issues, and just loves, loves, loves to curl up on your lap. Bambi would so best as an only dog and in an adult only home, Bambi is spayed, microchipped and up to date on vaccines. Interested in adopting me? To fill out an application visit 3 Hearts 4 Paws. Please note: we generally do not adopt out of state unless it is within 1-2 hours of us.

Breed overview

Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
