Description
Dog Breed: Australian Cattle Dog/Blue Heeler / German Shepherd Dog (medium coat). Cattle dog/shepherd mix male puppy Hudson is a 9 month old, 50 pound Queensland/Shephard mix. Hudson comes when you whistle- he drops everything and trots right to me! He is gorgeous and very sweet and gentle! Hudson is so playful with the whole pack at the rescue. Typical Queensland/Shepard mix. His tail is always wagging! He has easy energy. Hudson is working on leash manners. He now walks loose leash by your side, and going down stairs he does not put a paw below my foot! He is also excellent off leash. He sticks close by the house, and follows me on the trail. Hudson comes from Kings County, and he was treated well at the shelter but he’s ready for his forever home now. Hudson is neutered, up to date on vaccines, and chipped. Ready to go! Hudson is in Templeton. More photos and updates: .facebook/media/set/?set=a.1532348137726835&type=3 Interested in Hudson? Please complete an application at: bit.ly/CCHDR_App

Breed overview

Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
