At 12 years young, Chauncey is a sweet Dachshund/Jack Russell mix with a heart full of love and plenty of pep in his step! Don’t let his age fool you — this 15 lb guy still enjoys walks, car rides, and cozy cuddle sessions on the couch. He’s got that perfect mix of playful energy and seasoned charm. Chauncey is looking for a special home to spend his golden years. His mom is terminally ill, and her only wish is to know her beloved boy will be safe and cherished in a new, loving home. Chauncey has lived with other dogs and cats and enjoys their company, but would also enjoy being the center of attention. He’s house trained and uses a doggie door out to a fenced yard. Chauncey is a polite house guest but can be a bit possessive with high-value goodies like bully sticks and bones — so treats should be given with care and not left out. No issues with toys, though — he’s happy to play and share. For this reason, we are looking for a home without young children for Chauncey.
